PEI Grade and R - Rating

PEI Grading  (Resistance to Abrasion)

This is the European Industry standard rating to define the quality/durability/resistance to abrasion of the tile material.

This grading system goes from 1 up to 5.

All of our porcelain floor tiles are grade 4 or 5.

Our porcelain tiles are more than suitable for most residential and light commercial applications. Highly durable and ultra low maintenance.

Please see details below or contact us for more information.

R Rating (Slip Resistance)

This is an industry standard rating for any materials to be used on floors.

It refers to the amount of friction or anti slip qualities which a product surface has, important when choosing a floor tile for areas such as a bathroom or kitchen.

This scale goes up through R9 to R10 and R11 etc. as the material has increasing friction non slip properties.

R9 and R10 values are often used and recommended for domestic bathroom or kitchen tiles but R11 and R12 will provide further grip in areas which may have standing water.

It is worth noting that in general, the higher the rating, Eg. R12, the rougher texture on the surface.

We provide the non slip rating as a guide. If unsure please call us for information or order a sample.
